ESSENTIALDUTIES&
Responsibilities: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary)
Performing repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and tile and painting tasks
Repairing and treating structures such as walk-ins, floors, sinks walls, carpets and roofs
Changing filters on ventilating, heating and air condition units
Servicing kitchen, appliances, and emergency equipment, Reporting mechanical malfunctions to party and performing general preventive maintenance
Moving and assisting in transportation of equipment
Skills / Requirements
KNOWLEDGEOF:
Basic cleaning techniques
Basic facilities maintenance activities
Applicable tools of the trade
SKILLIN:
Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools;
Ability to operate a forklift;
Should follow oral and written instructions;
Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form;
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships;
Monitoring materials, supplies, and equipment;
Monitoring inventory levels.
TRAININGAND
Experience:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and a minimum of 6 months prior facilities maintenance experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Incumbents may be subjected to odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, hot weather conditions and travel.
Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
