com/careers/benefits/ />We are seeking a professional full-time Surgical Operations Assistant for our surgery center located at 4745 E.
Camp Lowell, Tucson AZ.
The Surgical Operations Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support in the surgery center.
The hours are Monday - Friday and will vary from 7:
00AM- 6:
00PM.
(No Weekends or Holidays).
POSITION SUMMARYUnder the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, the Surgical Operations Assistant is responsible for processing and packaging surgical instruments and scopes, performing daily equipment checks, assisting with procedure room turnover, assist with transferring patients from procedure tables to stretchers, transporting patients out of the facility by wheelchair and stocking suppliesSurgical Operations Assistant
Responsibilities:
Performs all duties relating to instrument processing including decontamination, sterilization, and high level disinfection according to manufacturers' instructions.

Properly package surgical instruments for sterilization.
Monitor and continually assess the daily operations in the facility, including patient and surgical team needs.
Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
Perform quality control testing and monitoring of sterilization equipment, maintaining records, preparation and dispatch of surgical cases Obtain patient's vital signs and record data into EMR.
Assist nursing staff with turnover after patient care in local rooms, pre-op and PACU.
Assist with the transfer of patients using proper body mechanics Escort patients and their families to and from their procedures.
Open packages/boxes and store supplies throughout the ASC You are expected to travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region as part of your position requirements.
Perform other clinical and office duties as assigned by manager.
Surgical Operations Assistant RequirementsSurgical Operations Assistant - Requirements:
Graduate from Medical Assistant program.
Minimum 2 years medical assistant experience.
Urology experience is a plus.
Bi-lingual is strongly preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Computer proficiency and prior experience with Electronic Medical Records system is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel to other sites as necessary.
