0 Full-time 2 days ago Full Job Description JOB The Firefighter EMT-B performs specialized firefighter and EMT-B duties including fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency lifesaving, and rescue.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Respond to fire alarms as a member of a fire fighting team and participates in the control and suppression of all types of fires, including but not limited to residential, commercial, vehicular and wild land fire.
Participate in rescue operations at fire scenes, accidents, hazardous areas and other emergencies, render first aid and emergency medical care, and assist other agencies in emergencies.
Participate in fire prevention inspections of residences and commercial buildings; notify senior shift member, building residents of fire hazards, advises on corrective actions, and fire prevention methods.
Participate in pre-fire planning inspections, sketch building and area plans, note street and hydrant locations, obstacles, hazards and other features pertinent to the development of firefighting strategy, and rescue operations.
Participate in continuous training and physical fitness programs.
Required in participate in the routine cleaning and maintenance of fire station facilities and equipment.
Participate in salvage operations and identification of fire causes, preserve evidence of possible arson, circumstances causing medical emergencies, and testify in court.
Conduct periodic inspections, test of firefighting, rescue and first aid equipment, apparatus, and fire hydrants.
Conduct classes and presentations for fire department personnel and public groups on a variety of subjects such as fire prevention, first aid and rescue techniques, equipment care and use, safety procedures, fire combat techniques, hazardous materials and other related subjects.
Collect a variety of data to prepare reports.
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.

Skills and Abilities:
Apply fire suppression practices and principles;Effectively rendering first aid and basic emergency medical care;Effectively perform work of a hazardous nature under adverse conditions including but not limited to, confined areas, high places, during civil unrest, etc.
;Follow instructions and work as a team member in a highly structured working environment;Maintain physical fitness, agility and mental alertness during extended periods of work;Follow oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures;Prepare written documents on various Fire Department programs and projects as requested;Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION High School Diploma or GEDandSpecial RequirementsMust be 18 years old;Must be a U.

Citizen;Firefighter I and II Certification;CPR and First Aid Certifications;Arizona EMT-B Certification;Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;May be required to obtain an AZ State Driver/Operator Certification, other various certifications; depending on assignment;Must passed Physical Fitness test annually;This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends.
This position is a 24-hour shift assignment, with the average workweek at 57.
50 hours;Must not have been convicted of any offenses that would be considered a felony by the State of Arizona or the United States Government;Must not have been convicted of or adjudged to have violated traffic regulations governing the movement of vehicles with frequency within the past three years that indicates disrespect for traffic laws or a disregard for the safety of other persons on the roadway;Must have a FBI, BIA, and Tribal Court Clearance, which includes a Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card.
Failure to maintain a current clearance from the aforementioned agencies will result in termination.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
