We are a non-profit charter holder for two charter high schools in the Tucson Area.
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY The Academic Support Specialist will support students' academic success by providing academic coaching, group and individual tutoring, and facilitating active learning through workshops, events, and collaboration with staff and faculty.
The Specialist is also responsible for assisting with the training and mentoring of tutors, conducting workshops, and coordinating and recordkeeping.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES Proficiency in ongoing data collection and management Proficiency with the use of excel and/or other spreadsheet programs Minimum 3 years of experience working with students in a remediation setting Positive experience working with small groups of students for remediation Positive experience collaborating with classroom teachers PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Academic Support Specialist addresses the specific needs of a particular student when regular classroom instruction is insufficient.
They work with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each student.
Consult frequently with instructional staff on matters relating to instruction using our progress-monitoring instrument as a base.
Design interventions and write lesson plans detailing methods and materials.
Assist in the evaluation of ongoing programs and make recommendations for change.
Assist teachers, other administrators, and/or supervisors in implementing school academic programs.
Help teachers diagnose academic strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
Create a welcoming environment in all tutoring areas by modeling student-centered behavior.
Keep the parents informed as to the purposes and progress of the intervention program.
Work with the classroom teacher and district personnel to coordinate instruction designed to meet students' individual needs.
Work with the classroom teacher to monitor student progress.
Teach remedial skills as needed.
Participate in ongoing PLC data analysis sessions.
Ensure proper implementation of the school's MTSS process.
Assist with state testing when needed.
Perform other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by the supervisor.
Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19.
Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire.
CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement by applicable law and upon approval by CPLC.
However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
