The ideal candidate is a reliable, flexible, and proactive individual who is dedicated to providing excellent barista and customer service and also willing to perform many different tasks as needed by the store.
This position requires a knowledge of coffee preparation and the ability to create positive customer experiences.
A successful candidate should thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment and be willing to commit to our regular hours.
Responsibilities:
Prepare drinks and food items to exact specifications as given by supervisor or customer.
Manage food and drink orders and handle customer concerns or complaints from customers or employees.
Prepare drip coffee, iced tea, and cold brew.
Respond to questions about drinks, food and ingredients served.
Follow safety procedures when making drinks and serving pastries.
Opening duties include taking out patio tables, preparing pastry display, preparing sides for food orders, preparing cream for coffee orders, preparing pitchers of cold brew and iced tea as needed, brewing coffee, and getting coffee bar area ready before opening time.
Track front-of-house inventory and restock supplies.
Maintain a clean coffee bar and lobby area.
Assist back-of-house when help is needed, including washing dishes, cleaning, taking out orders, and assisting the chef/baker.
Closing duties include closing espresso machine, cleaning coffee bar and lobby (including all surfaces and floors), bringing patio tables in, and helping clean up in the kitchen.
Pay includes tips and will depend on experience (years of barista and/or customer service experience).
We are unable to provide free parking due to the downtown location.
We are looking for someone who can work 2-4 shifts per week.
Shifts can range from 5-6 hours.
