Volt is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Technician to work for a leading manufacturing company in Tucson.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing first article inspections of raw material and components. Candidate will perform inspections and conduct audits on finished parts and provide documentation. Calibrate instruments and gauges for in-house calibration and coordination with external agencies and purchasing for external calibration. Perform minor repairs on company gauges. Audit of materials and production parts before delivery to next operation area. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in interpreting specifications/prints/engineering drawings and ability to apply this understanding in the inspection process. Advanced metrology skills to include the use of a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), non-contact gauging, Digimar, height , micrometer, and caliper. Ability to perform routine, extensive and preventative maintenance of company measurement equipment and master instruments used for calibration. Understand appropriate regulatory guidelines (ASTM, ANSI and ASME code). Use industry standard techniques in set-up and measurement of mechanical parts and assemblies. Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely. Capable of standing and bending over for long periods of time.
