This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Tucson, AZ. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer in the Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Operations Support (OS). The incumbent is expected to advise, develop, and support CBP-wide Medical Policy, Plans, and Programs and deliver expert advice and counsel to the CBP Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on border security aspects of the Medical program. Duties and responsibilities may include:
Providing medical coordination and oversight of CBP EMTs and paramedics and inform the development of CBP EMT program guidance and protocols Conducting research, analysis, and strategic planning and policy development regarding complex health and medical areas of concern with an emphasis on operational medicine and to also include emergency medicine, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program, disaster preparedness and response, detainee health, medical counter measures, naloxone, pandemic and emerging infectious diseases and special operations medical needs and requirements. Creating reports and other briefing materials for staff and executive-level meetings concerning a wide variety of critical issues including operational medicine, mass migration preparedness and response, public and immigrant health, medical transportation procedures, emergency medicine, medical counter measures, naloxone use in response to fentanyl exposure, pandemic and emerging infectious diseases. Providing recommendations concerning multi-program quality assurance, standards, and compliance, which enhance CBP's ability to successfully complete mission-essential functions, goals, and objectives. Providing guidance and other support to the CBP Watch, Incident Management Division and operational components as directed by the Chief Medical Officer. This position may allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $108,960.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $141,645.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $141,645 (GS-14 Step 10). Basic Qualification Requirements:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
providing field medical care, experience in border security and detainee health; supporting disaster and public health emergency and pandemic planning, preparedness, and response efforts and experience and expertise in operational medical advisory support in a law enforcement, military or humanitarian environment. AND Additional qualification requirements include experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrates the ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; to deal effectively with individuals or persons in a courteous, tactful manner; and to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions. You will be required to carry a firearm while on duty. Anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C. There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. If you do not meet the residency requirement and you have been physically located in a foreign location for more than two of the last five years, you may request an exception to determine if you are eligible for a residency wavier by meeting one or more of the following conditions:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
