POSITION OVERVIEW This position is part of a consolidated automation support division and reports to the systems technology division manager. The incumbent provides specialized technical support for judicial staff, Clerks Office, U.S. Probation, and U.S. Pretrial Services units located throughout the District of Arizona in the areas of local and wide area network hardware, operating systems, and software. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Administers network software and hardware in a diverse technical environment that includes Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory.Designs, implements, and supports data communications systems consisting of wide and local area networks, physical network servers, virtualized servers and desktops, storage area network (SAN) hardware and software, IP networking equipment (routers, core and access data switches, wireless access controllers and access points, transceivers, etc.), transmission media (fiber optic and copper cabling, leased lines, 802.11 wireless, etc.), network protocols, and network operating systems.Determines the physical storage and bandwidth requirements to support applications, data storage, reliability, and security needs; and provides network hardware, software, and operating systems support for Phoenix area court locations as well as all other District of Arizona locations connected via the federal judiciary WAN.Performs network security and user access maintenance including user setup and deletions, enterprise directory maintenance, network rights and permissions, group policy development and administration, installation and maintenance of anti-virus software, patch management, physical security, support of intrusion detection mechanisms and firewalls, and network security monitoring and remediation.Installs and maintains network data backup devices/mechanisms and associated software.Provides support for remote network access mechanisms.Plans and coordinates network infrastructure implementations and modifications in support of the construction of new physical court sites and space alterations for existing sites.Maintains and supports network-based email applications as needed.Sets up, integrates, and supports network-enabled peripherals such as printers, multi-function devices, and scanners into the network architecture.Provides end user support and guidance relative to network connectivity and usage, IT security, and remote access as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo qualify for this position, the applicant must have two years specialized experience, including at least one-year equivalent to work at the next lower level (CL-27).Specialized experience is progressively responsible experience designing, implementing or maintaining computer systems that included the completion of computer project assignments involving systems analysis, computer programming, systems integration, and information technology project managementEducation at the masters degree level or two years of graduate study may be substituted for required specialized experience if obtained in a field closely related to the subject matter of this position.TECHNICAL
Qualifications:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to those candidates who possess significant operational and technical experience relative to the installation, configuration, and support of Windows Server operating systems (extensive experience with Windows Server 2016 and above preferred), Microsoft Active Directory (including administration of group policies, DNS and DHCP services), and Windows 10 desktop operating systems; enterprise administration/management and deployment utilities (such as KACE 1000, KACE 2000, AD Group Policy Administration, PowerShell and VB Scripting); VMWare server virtualization; and desktop virtualization products (specifically VMWare View). Preference will also be given to those candidates who have extensive knowledge and experience implementing, managing, and supporting networking hardware, topologies, and protocols including Cisco core and access switches, enterprise-level 802.11 wireless networks, TCP/IP, VLANs, voice and video over IP, virtual private networks, and copper and fiber optic cabling. Experience implementing and supporting physical server hardware, storage area networks, and data backup devices and supporting software is also desired, as is experience implementing and managing network security mechanisms (such as Palo Alto Firewalls, Splunk Log Management, ForcePoint and Websense) and IT security procedures. Experience in the administration of enterprise-level email software products is also desired, as is a good working knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and end-user applications including MS Office products and MS Outlook email client software. Preference will also be given to candidates whose work experience provides evidence of strong customer service skills; the ability to work cooperatively with clients, team members, and managers; the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to follow an assigned project through to completion. A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is also preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
