As part of the Community Food Bank's Partnerships & Community Impact and Local Food Pathways teams, the Community Development Manager works on community-based solutions to common problems, with a focus on the local food system and economy.
This position works directly with organizational partners, local food producers, institutional customers, and community stakeholders.
In collaboration with these partners and CFB staff, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of community development initiatives that support the overall health and well-being of individuals and communities across southern Arizona in line with CFB's mission to alleviate hunger and promote health.

Duties and
Responsibilities:
Staff Development and OversightOversee and support program staff through regular meetings, providing feedback for overall competency, and championing their professional growth and leadership development.
Contribute to team and organizational culture by holding yourself and your team accountable to consistently act in line with core values, deeply engage in org-wide equity work, and practice critical thinking and analysis.
Program Development and ImplementationOversee and support ongoing development of the Farm-to-Institution (F2I) local food value chain by regularly communicating with Core Team, plan and facilitate bi-annual value chain partner meetings, coordinate annual crop-planning process, connect to new market opportunities, and manage ongoing project evaluation to understand impact and adapt as needed for continuous improvement.
Manage internal processes for partner grant-making, including coordination with grant-making team, oversight of grant forms and process in online platform, communication and outreach to partners, and administration of awards to partners.
Seek out new and creative opportunities to integrate local food and justice-oriented community development programming into existing hunger relief efforts.
Intentionally cultivate relationships and partnerships that support programmatic goals, multiply the impact of the work, and strengthen the local food economy.
Plan, facilitate, and/or participate in relevant staff, partner, and community meetings.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to identify and address opportunities/challenges, improve processes, and accomplish shared goals for ongoing program development.
Manage program budget in coordination with Local Food Pathways team and Co-Directors of Partnerships and Community Impact.
Document procedures related to key job duties to contribute to program infrastructure.
Partner and Network DevelopmentIn conjunction with the Partnerships and Community Impact team, identify partner and network needs, assets, opportunities, and threats.
Coordinate with the Partnerships and Community Impact team to build partner knowledge and inter-partner connections.
Support the integration of existing local food systems initiatives, including farmers' markets and the Abundant Harvest Cooperative.
Research best practices, convene/participate in working groups, and collaborate with CFB staff, partners, and stakeholders to contribute to fair and equitable economic systems.
Based on data, make recommendations for CFB's partner development activities and resources.
Organizational ResponsibilitiesActively contribute to cross-departmental and organization-wide efforts in consultation with Co-Directors of Partnerships and Community Impact.
Perform related duties as requested by Co-Directors of Partnerships and Community Impact, Chief Program Officer, or CEO.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bilingual - Spanish/English (preferred).
At least three-years' experience in community education and development, preferably in low-income communities or with different cultures.
At least three-years' experience working in organic agriculture and/or sustainable food systems.
At least two-years' experience supervising staff and volunteers.
Ability to work respectfully and with patience with people from divergent economic, social and political backgrounds.
Experience in facilitation and leading multi-stakeholder participatory processes.
Experience in leadership development and coalition building.
Adaptable, team player with a good attitude and sense of humor!Ability to work effectively with little supervision.
Self-starter, with the ability to work collaboratively.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, comfortably and repeatedly.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; ability to learn Quickbooks, Foundant, desktop publishing, and internet-based communications.
A good driving record and a current valid Arizona driver license (required).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
