To obtain a challenging position in a medical setting. I have been in the medical field for 23 years, and the last 15 years was at St. Josephs Hospital Lab.
As a Lab Technical Assistant/Charting, I would draw blood from in-patients, to out-patients, answering phones, give reports out to doctors, and our outside clients I would fax the results to them, receiving specimens from the units into cerner, our computer program, also I would register patients into Meditech. As far as charting goes I would receive all lab reports, pathology, and send-out reports of each patient.
I was in charge out-patient drawing center for the hospital lab, I had 2 co-workers that I was in charge of,checking for quality assurance, checking the doctors orders on what test he wanted on the patient. We would check all insurances, and put all their information into the computer. We would enter them into the computer, and it would generate a label for us to put on the tube of each patient. I would file our standing order patients into our file cabinet. The billing department would need help, I would work and their department. I would love the opportunity to show you, how I can work on my own, and when I am asked to do a job, it gets done.
