 April 2011 - August 2011 – 4 Month Contract Assignment via Apple One Employment

Finance Manager – reporting to the Meridian Engineering company VP of Finance. Responsibilities included cash management, job order costing, managing Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

 

November 2007 - March 2010 - Westmed Inc.

Senior Financial Analyst / Standard Cost Accountant reporting to the company CFO. I recreated the standard costing process involving Sage Pro for all manufactured products. Analyzed and reported product standard cost variances. Reported financial results; prepared annual budget, created Excel model used to calculate new product costs, analyzed, and summarized information for financial plans, and presented operating forecasts on a weekly basis to the CFO and company president. I managed the weekly cycle counts and the yearly physical inventories.

 

January 2006 - July 2007 RMS Inc. via contract with Microsoft Inc.

Financial Analyst - Reconciliation Analyst under contract with Microsoft Inc. Daily reconciliation of numerous bank accounts, reported variations regarding forecasted bank transactions versus actual bank transactions and provided recommendations for improvements to the Microsoft tracking / software.   

 

December 2003 - October 2005    Loma Catalina Company 

Controller / Senior GL Accountant reporting to the company President and responsible for managing cash, accounting entries, accounts payable, finance activities, tax reporting, costing and financial modeling. I audited 18 bank accounts daily.

 

October 2000 – December 2003   Global Solar Energy Inc. (Parent Company – Uni-Source)

Senior Standard Cost Accountant -Utilized (SAP based) IFS software to create the first accurate standard costing and variance analysis. Audited all Manufacturing processes and verified the costing matched exactly with each process.  

 

January 1995 – July 2000 - Evergreen Air Center Inc.

Budget and Forecast Manager reporting to the company VP of Finance. I presented weekly to the President and senior management the financial metrics; managed company budgets; forecast revenue and cost, and managed NASA reporting.

Advisory Financial Analyst – primary responsibilities involved budgets, forecasting, costing, and year end planning. I created the first budget process used by plant site engineer support personnel. I tracked expenses and supported management.

Advisory Financial Analyst – I conducted monthly financial measurement presentations to the Corporate V.P. I developed an accurate year-end forecast, exceeding financial goals. I directed lease / purchase training for the financial team.

Staff Financial Analyst – Business Controls Department – developed applications for planning and tracking resources. I developed financial evaluations, budgets, and achieved $5 million in controllable expense savings.

 Professional Accomplishments:

 Westmed Inc -. I completely revised the Standard Cost process significantly improving accuracy, timelines and reporting. In addition, I managed the MIS upgrade of the ACCPAC system on-time and within budget (in spite of numerous unplanned additions).

Global Solar Energy Inc. (Start-Up Company) - I received several bonuses and award letters for creating  standard costing utilizing the IFS software and creating “What IF” Excel formulas that were beneficial to the Manufacturing and R&D VP.  I successfully organized and managed the physical inventories for three years.

 Loma Catalina LLC -. I took on the acting Controller position for 8 months. I revised the AP payment prioritization process which significantly improved and controlled cash disbursements. Available cash on hand increased by $1 Million (previously it was often in the red).

 Evergreen Air Center Inc. - I created a comprehensive cost, revenue and profit forecasting model used by the president to understand and achieve optimum rebalancing of labor and achieved a 21% reduction in controllable expenses. I acted as the company financial contact with the NASA Houston Texas organization and provided timely/accurate reconciliations of the monthly NASA Shuttle 747 repair/maintenance activities.

 IBM Corporation - During my association with IBM, I experienced rapid promotions, numerous awards, letters of commendation, and increased levels of responsibility.  I received the IBM Cost Effectiveness Award.
